Due to having four older sisters and an elementary school teacher as a mom, I have been a reader and a writer since age three. These two skills have served me well. I learned at this young age that as long as you have a book, or a notebook and pencil, you never have to be lonely. Reading and writing have been my best friends, my therapists, my escape mechanisms, and my heart and soul.
I contribute to Rob Port’s very successful Say Anything Blog, and I will continue to do that as long as he lets me. However, I started The Blue Grasshopper as a way to keep writing on a regular basis, and to once again use words as a coping mechanism. If a million people read it? That’s fine. If no one reads it? Even better.
